The Owners
Hen and Hive Farms is based out of Clayton, North Carolina by Jake and Victoria DiMicheli. Victoria is a North Carolina native and Jake is from upstate New York. Both lovers of the outdoors, we stay busy gardening, raising chickens and beekeeping. We love to go camping whenever we get the chance with our dog, especially to the mountains.
The Candles
I began making candles in 2023 to give away to friends and family. Everyone loved them so much, I decided to make them available to everyone! Each candle is handcrafted for each season throughout the year. Follow our Instagram and Facebook for announcements!
The Animals
Duke is our 7 year old Lab. He is the light of our lives and an absolute angel of a dog.
The Chickens
These girls were such a great addition to the family. They keep me on my toes and are sweeter than I knew chickens could be!
The Bees
We are new to beekeeping and got our first hive in the spring of 2024. We are excited to harvest honey in the future and maybe even some wax!
Frequently Asked Questions
We use fragrance oils in our candles. Essential oils on their own have a much lower flash point and can't always be safely used in candles. They also have a lower scent throw. Our oils are all non-toxic and phthalate free, providing a clean burn.
We use a coconut/apricot blend wax.
The only complaint we have ever had is that they last TOO long. The amount of burn time depends on if you are following the candle care instructions above. Each candle collection will inform you of approximate burn time in the candle description.
